Kaligua 2 Mini-Hydro Power Plant
PT Sumarah Sinergi Kaligua is developing a renewable energy infrastructure project through the planned construction of the Kaligua 2 Mini Hydro Power Plant (MHPP). This project is designed to harness the potential of the Kaligua River's water flow to support clean energy availability in Central Java.
Location and Accessibility
The Kaligua 2 MHPP is in the Tumiyang Village, Pakuncen District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province. To reach the project site from the capital city of Jakarta, a land journey of approximately 520.5 km is required, with an estimated travel time of approximately 9 hours and 20 minutes.
Technical Specifications
The plant is planned to have a total capacity of 1.5 MW, generated by two 750 kW generator units. The following are the main technical details of the project:
-
Turbine System: Uses a horizontal Francis turbine combined with a horizontal synchronous generator.
-
Hydraulic Parameters: Utilizes a water head of 91 meters with a flow rate of 3.51 m³/s.
-
Penstock: The penstock is designed to be 470 meters long with a pipe diameter of 1 meter.
Current Project Status
Currently, the Kaligua 2 Mini Hydro Power Plant project has shown significant progress. All aspects of land acquisition and permitting have been successfully completed. Administratively, the project has also been registered on the List of Selected Providers and is currently awaiting the tender opening by PT PLN (Persero).
