Mini Hydro Power Plant
1.40 MW
The Komering Mini Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) is a strategic power generation asset managed by PT Daya Energy Komering. This plant utilizes the potential of the Komering irrigation canal to generate clean and renewable energy. Administratively, the facility is located in Kurungan Nyawa Village, Buay Madang District, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra Province. It can be reached by land in approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes and is approximately 248 km from Radin Inten II Airport in Bandar Lampung.
This plant has a total capacity of 1.40 MW, generated by two generator units, each with a capacity of 700 kW. Technically, the Komering Mini-Hydro Power Plant operates with a water head of 6 meters and a flow rate of 30 m³/s. Its main infrastructure is supported by a 22-meter-long, 2.0-meter-diameter penstock, which channels water to a Kaplan horizontal turbine and a horizontal synchronous generator for conversion into electricity.
Commercially, the Komering Mini-Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) officially commenced commercial operations date (COD) since April 1, 2020, with a 15-year contract period. The presence of this power plant demonstrates the private sector's contribution to strengthening regional energy security through sustainable water resource utilization.
